#1 Record
About this Album
#1 Record is the 1972 debut album by Big Star, recorded at Ardent Studios in Memphis between May 1971 and February 1972 with John Fry producing. Released April 24, 1972 on Ardent Records, it was praised for its vocal harmonies and songwriting but sold fewer than 10,000 copies initially because of poor distribution. It is now regarded as a seminal power pop record.
