About this Album

Antisocialites is the second studio album by Alvvays, released on September 8, 2017 through Polyvinyl in the US, Royal Mountain in Canada, Transgressive in Europe and Inertia in Australia.[1] Every track is credited to Molly Rankin and Alec O'Hanley, who also produced it with John Congleton.[1]

It was recorded at Kingsize Soundlabs in Los Angeles, Tarbox Road Studios in Cassadaga, New York, and Union Sound Studios in Toronto.[1] Rankin wrote much of it on Toronto Island, working in an abandoned schoolroom.[2] Critics found it darker and more serious than the debut, with a separation running through its lyrics.[1][3]

The album won the 2018 Juno Award for Alternative Album of the Year and was shortlisted for the 2018 Polaris Music Prize.[1] "Dreams Tonite" was its second single.
