Beach Fossils
About this Album
Beach Fossils is the 2010 self-titled debut album, released on May 25, 2010 through Captured Tracks. Dustin Payseur wrote, recorded, and produced it himself[1], mostly in his Brooklyn apartment[2].
Critics heard hazy, sun-soaked songs that owed as much to the Beach Boys at their brightest as to Galaxie 500 at their murkiest[2]. Treblezine linked its day-dreamy warmth to Payseur's homesickness for North Carolina[3]. Reviews were favorable, and the record is now seen as an early landmark of lo-fi indie pop[1].
