About this Album

Birdie is the second album by Slaughter Beach, Dog, released on October 27, 2017 through Lame-O Records. It turns from Jake Ewald's pop-punk background toward folk, with plucked guitar, pedal steel and wistful storytelling.[5] Exclaim! describes its songs as vignettes of ordinary young people in a fictional town, dealing with boredom, love and the urge to leave home.[3] It was recorded with only Ewald and Ian Farmer in the studio, which left it sparse and springy.[4] It closes with "Acolyte".[1]
