Cloud 9
About this Album
Cloud 9 is Megan Moroney's third studio album, released February 20, 2026, on Columbia Records. Debuting at number one on the Billboard 200 with 147,000 equivalent album units in its first week, it marked her first chart-topping album and her most commercially successful release to date.
Moroney described the album's guiding color as hot pink, a deliberate shift from the royal blue of her previous record Am I Okay? (2024). In her telling, pink is strong, confident, and sassy, but retains a softness that she had been afraid to show in earlier work. The album title reflects an emotional arc that begins in euphoric new love and gradually descends toward a grounded, bittersweet reckoning. Moroney has called it the first album she has been genuinely proud of, noting that the confidence she felt entering these sessions freed her to take creative risks she hadn't dared before.
The 15-track standard edition features collaborations with Ed Sheeran ("I Only Miss You"), Kacey Musgraves ("Bells & Whistles"), and country legend Jamey Johnson ("Waiting on the Rain"). Producers include Kristian Bush, Luke Laird, and Moroney herself on select tracks. Critics largely praised the album as a career-level statement, with Rolling Stone awarding four stars and calling her a "poet of Gen Z heartache," while RIFF Magazine scored it 9/10. The album also topped the Top Country Albums and UK Country Albums charts.
