Dark Comedy
About this Album
Dark Comedy is the 2014 album by Open Mike Eagle, released on June 10, 2014 through Mello Music Group. It runs thirteen tracks, opens with "Dark Comedy Morning Show", and features guests including Hannibal Buress and Kool A.D. alongside a rotating cast of producers.[1]
Critics received it warmly. Pitchfork praised its mix of amusing observations and uncomfortable truths, and Rolling Stone and Spin both placed it on their lists of the best rap albums of 2014.[1] One review called its tone goofily serious.[2]
It should not be confused with Hella Personal Film Festival (2016), his later collaboration with the British producer Paul White.[3]
