Day and Night

Announced in the summer of 2026, Day and Night is Carly Rae Jepsen's eighth studio album and her first full-length release in three years, following 2022's The Loneliest Time and its 2023 companion The Loveliest Time^[1].

Rather than splitting the project into two sequential releases as she has in the past, Jepsen built Day and Night as a single 24-track double album, with twelve songs given over to each half^[2]. Collaborator Tavish Crowe reportedly likened the structure to a house party with an upstairs and a downstairs, a way of holding two very different moods under one roof rather than forcing them apart^[3].

The "Day" disc leans into organic, live instrumentation with a warm, '70s-tinged psychedelic pop sensibility, while the "Night" disc pushes toward a sleeker, more synth-driven and intense dance-pop sound^[2]. Recorded between 2023 and 2025 with a wide circle of collaborators, including Kyle Shearer, Nate Cyphert, her husband Cole M.G.N., Noonie Bao, Patrik Berger, Markus Krunegård, Pontus Winnberg, and, in at least one session, A. G. Cook, the album is framed by Jepsen as a blurred, dreamlike stretch of time where night bleeds into morning and day fades into evening^[2].

The lead single, "On Wires", opens the "Day" side of the record and sets its organic, live-band tone before the album's later turn toward the nocturnal and synthetic^[2]. Day and Night is set for release on September 18, 2026 via Schoolboy and Interscope Records, with Jepsen launching the album era at New York's All Things Go Festival^[1].
