About this Album
Delaware is the 1992 debut album by Boston shoegaze band Drop Nineteens, released on June 19, 1992 through Caroline Records, with a UK release on Hut Records. Greg Ackell wrote all the lyrics, and the music is credited to the full lineup of Ackell, Paula Kelley, Chris Roof, Motohiro Yasue and Steve Zimmerman.
The album reached number five on the UK Independent Albums chart and sold better in Europe than in the United States. Reviews were generally warm (NME gave it 8 out of 10), and Pitchfork later placed it at number 45 on its list of the fifty best shoegaze albums. It was reissued in 2009 by Cherry Red and again in 2024 on Wharf Cat Records.
