About this Album

Dopamine Chamber is the fifth studio album by Irish band Fontaines D.C., released on XL Recordings on 16 October 2026 and produced by James Ford, who also worked on Romance. Its central concept is escapism, and the question of where to flee when escaping becomes harder.

Frontman Grian Chatten has said the band chose to leave hope out and reflect ugliness honestly, so that the record works as a catastrophic warning. Critics have described it as more ethereal, more mechanical and more pessimistic than Romance. Marianne was the lead single, followed by Tongue on 30 September 2026.

The album was recorded between February 2025 and March 2026 in London and Suffolk, with Chatten's vocals later tracked in a makeshift home studio in Palermo.[1][2] Its sound moves from harsh, synthetic textures in the first half to a more guitar-led, string-rich second half, with Rosalía guesting on Where Is Gone?.[1][5] Reviews were strongly positive, including five stars from NME.[1][2]
