Flower of Devotion

Flower of Devotion is the third album by Chicago trio Dehd, released in July 2020 on Fire Talk Records. Written before the pandemic and delivered into it, the record pairs grief and isolation with a deliberately playful, danceable sound, adding synthesizers and a drum machine for the first time. It follows Water (2019), which was shaped by the breakup of Emily Kempf and Jason Balla, and explores reconciliation, friendship and solitude. Critics responded warmly, with Paste calling it the band's best work and Pitchfork awarding Best New Music.^[1][2][4]
