Freedom

Freedom is the fifth album by Amen Dunes, the project of New York songwriter Damon McMahon, released on Sacred Bones in March 2018 and produced by Chris Coady. It was recorded at Electric Lady Studios in New York and Sunset Sound in Los Angeles, and reflects on growing up, male identity, McMahon's father, and his mother's terminal cancer diagnosis, which came as recording began. Pitchfork called it a euphoric breakthrough.
