Fun House
About this Album
Fun House is the third album by Hand Habits, the project of Meg Duffy, released on October 22, 2021 on Saddle Creek.[1] Produced by Sasami Ashworth, it was made at home during the pandemic after Duffy moved into a Los Angeles house with Sasami and Kyle Thomas in April 2020.[1]
The record is a look inward, shaped by quarantine and a reckoning with old relationship patterns, family memory, grief for Duffy's mother, and questions of transness and identity.[1] Duffy has said the title suggests disorientation and rooms of different moods, and they wanted songs that could sound very different from one another and still cohere.[2] Its lead single, "Aquamarine," pairs a dance-floor pulse with heavy subject matter.[4]
