About this Album

Here Comes the Cowboy is Mac DeMarco's fourth studio album, released on May 10, 2019 through his own Mac's Record Label.[1] He recorded it over 2018 and 2019 in his Los Angeles garage, playing nearly all the instruments himself and aiming for the feel of a demo.[1]

Despite the title, DeMarco has insisted it is not a country record.[2] Critics were divided, with Metacritic landing at 69 out of 100, but the album became his first US top ten debut.[1] It also contains two songs dedicated to Mac Miller.[3]
