In My Own Time
About this Album
In My Own Time is Karen Dalton's second and final studio album, released in 1971 and produced by Harvey Brooks[1]. It was recorded at Bearsville Studios and Mercy Sound Studios in New York[1].
The record is made largely of covers and traditional songs, including material by Dino Valenti, Richard Manuel, and George Jones, all reshaped by Dalton's slow, bending phrasing[1][3]. It was the first release on Mike Lang's Just Sunshine label[4], and a 1971 Rolling Stone review praised her voice while faulting some overproduced horn arrangements[4]. AllMusic later called it the Dalton album to own if you only own one[1].
