About this Album

It's a Wonderful Life is the third studio album by Sparklehorse, released in the UK on June 11, 2001 and in the US on August 28, 2001 through Capitol and EMI.[1] After two records made largely alone on a Virginia farm, Mark Linkous worked with a full band and guests including PJ Harvey, Tom Waits and Nina Persson, with Dave Fridmann and John Parish among the key collaborators.[1][2]

It was the band's best-selling album, at more than 63,000 copies, and scored 81 on Metacritic. AllMusic called it Linkous's most open and direct work.[1] Reviewers noted its cohesive, quieter sound compared with the noisier swerves of earlier records.[3]
