About this Album
Music, Fashion, Film is the seventh studio album by Charli xcx, released on 24 July 2026. It runs eleven songs and roughly thirty minutes, and its tracklist includes "Rock Music," "SS26," "Card Declined," "Camera," "2007," "Persona," and a closing track featuring the director David Cronenberg.[1]
The record follows her gothic Wuthering Heights soundtrack and turns toward guitar-driven, experimental pop. Its title names three industries of image-making, and its songs examine persona, fame, and the pressure to appear flawless.[2][3]
The album's emotional center is "Magic Metal Montana," a platonic love song to longtime collaborator A.G. Cook. The AP describes it as a charming post-rock track with an unexpected tempo change, and the review places the record's sound in fuzzed guitars, alternative tunings and minimal, rhythm-driven arrangements.[4]
The cover, photographed by Aidan Zamiri, is black and white and shows Marc Jacobs, John Cale and Martin Scorsese standing for fashion, music and film, with Charli herself left out of the frame.[5] The record's production leans on distortion and power chords without vocal pitch correction, and tracks such as "Persona" use that rawness to ask about the distance between a public image and the person behind it.[5]
