Party
About this Album
Party is the second studio album by New Zealand singer-songwriter Aldous Harding, released on 19 May 2017 through 4AD and Flying Nun.[1] It was recorded at J & J Studio in Bristol with producer John Parish, long associated with PJ Harvey, and features guest vocals from Mike Hadreas of Perfume Genius and Fenne Lily.[1]
Critics heard the record as a blossoming beyond the sombre introspection of her debut, with hushed piano, gentle acoustic guitar and dusty percussion giving way to a more theatrical, expansive sound.[2][3] It earned strong reviews, scoring 83 on Metacritic, and later won the Taite Music Prize.[1]
Singles included "Horizon" and "Imagining My Man," the latter a slow, nearly six-minute meditation on love, expectation and restraint.
