Popstar is Tinashe's eighth studio album, released September 25, 2026 through Nice Life Recording Company, Atlantic Records, and her own Tinashe Music imprint^[1]. The sixteen-track project follows the surprise viral success of her single "Nasty" and its parent album, Quantum Baby (2024), and finds Tinashe using the title and its winking cover art, a close-up of her face with stars in her eyes, as a satirical frame for examining fame, image, and the machinery of pop stardom^[2].

The album was preceded by four rounds of singles: the satirical "Too Easy" (June 5), the trap-inflected "Crash Out" (July 16), the moodier "Melatonin" (August 13), and a contrasting double single pairing the flirtatious "Pillow Fight" with the vulnerable breakup ballad "I'd Rather Be Alone" (September 10)^[3][4]. Musically the record blends R&B, pop, electronic, and dance influences, continuing the genre-agnostic approach Tinashe developed across her run of independently released albums, Songs for You, 333, and BB/ANG3L^[2].
