Raabta

Raabta is the soundtrack to the 2017 Bollywood film of the same name, directed by Dinesh Vijan. The film starred Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon in a reincarnation romance that moved between a medieval past-life and a contemporary Budapest setting, exploring themes of fate, eternal love, and souls bound across multiple lifetimes.

The music was primarily composed by Pritam, working through his production imprint JAM8. Lyrics were contributed by Amitabh Bhattacharya and Irshad Kamil. The lead single, "Ik Vaari Aa" featuring Arijit Singh, was released on 21 April 2017, with the full album following on 3 June 2017. Bollywood Hungama declared it the best Bollywood soundtrack of the year at the time of release.

The album's production was marked by a public dispute between Pritam and T-Series over the inclusion of a reworked song the composer had not originally created for the project. Pritam withdrew his personal name from the album credits, allowing the JAM8 imprint to remain, in a decision that drew attention to the question of artistic control within the major-label Bollywood music system.
