About this Album

Slowdive's self-titled fifth album was released on 5 May 2017 by Dead Oceans, 22 years after Pygmalion[4].

The band funded it themselves, began sessions in 2015 and spent a month in July 2016 at Courtyard Studios in Oxford with Chris Hufford, who had engineered their earlier records. Unlike Pygmalion, it was recorded digitally[3]. Halstead has described the title as a statement of the band's present state[3]. Critics welcomed it as a return to form, with Glide Magazine rating it 9/10[6].
