Biography
Big Thief is an indie rock band formed around the songwriting of Adrianne Lenker. The group released the albums Masterpiece (2016) and Capacity (2017) on Saddle Creek Records[1].
Lenker’s songs are rooted in personal memory and often turn to family, with a style that favors metaphor and open-ended imagery over explanation[2].
Lenker is a Minnesota transplant who first made singer-songwriter music on her own, then alongside Buck Meek, before forming Big Thief in Brooklyn[3]. The band's second album opened with a hushed song, a deliberate turn inward from the louder debut[4].
