Biography
Deafheaven are an American band from San Francisco, fronted by vocalist George Clarke with guitarist Kerry McCoy. They are best known for blending black metal with shoegaze and post-rock, a style often called blackgaze.
Touring hardship once reduced the band to the duo of Clarke and McCoy, and after the success of their second album, Sunbather (2013), they returned to a full five-piece lineup.[2] Sunbather was produced by Jack Shirley, released on Deathwish, and widely acclaimed outside the metal underground even as purists argued over it.[1][2]
