Biography
Enter Shikari are an English rock band formed in St Albans, Hertfordshire, in 1999 by Chris Batten, Rou Reynolds and Rob Rolfe, originally under the name Hybryd. Rory Clewlow joined in 2003 and the group took its current name[1].
Their sound spans post-hardcore, electronic rock and alternative rock. Lead vocalist and lyricist Rou Reynolds writes about climate change, nuclear weapons, capitalism and the privatisation of the NHS, alongside anxiety, depression and grief[1]. The band runs its own label, Ambush Reality, and A Kiss for the Whole World (2023) became their first UK number one[1].
In April 2026 they surprise-released the album Lose Your Self[2]. On 1 October 2026 they announced that they would fall dormant at the end of 2027, with the pause possibly ending in a return or in the band's extinction[1]. The surprise single "Higher Ground" followed days later[3].
