Biography
Good Charlotte is an American rock band formed in Waldorf, Maryland, by identical twin brothers Joel and Benji Madden. Sources differ on the exact year, with 1995 and 1996 both cited.[1] The band took its name from a children's book, Good Charlotte: Girls of the Good Day Orphanage.[1]
Their 2002 album The Young and the Hopeless was a multiplatinum success, producing singles such as "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous," "The Anthem" and "Girls & Boys." Later albums include The Chronicles of Life and Death (2004), Good Morning Revival (2007) and Cardiology (2011).[1]
In 2014 the Madden brothers released Greetings From California as The Madden Brothers, a pop-rock and folk-rock project shaped partly by their time as judges on The Voice Australia.[2][3] The album was pulled from streaming in 2015 and is set to return in November 2026 under the Good Charlotte name, including a version of "U R" featuring Ziggy Marley.[4]
