J Balvin, Ryan Castro & DJ Snake

Person

Biography

This credit brings together three artists. J Balvin, born José Álvaro Osorio Balvín in Medellín in 1985, spent part of his teens in the United States before becoming one of the best-selling names in Latin music, with hits such as Ay Vamos, Ginza and Mi Gente.[2]

Ryan Castro also comes from Medellín. As a teenager he moved to Curaçao to live with his mother, absorbing dancehall, reggae and Caribbean culture there before returning to the city's reggaeton scene. His debut album was El Cantante del Ghetto (2024), and its follow-up, Sendé, revisits his Curaçao roots.[1]

French producer DJ Snake is known for hits such as Lean On and Taki Taki. In 2026 Balvin and Castro released the collaborative album Omerta, and Tonto, with DJ Snake, is its ninth track.[3]
