Biography

Julia Wolf (born Julia Capello) is an American singer, songwriter and producer from Glen Head, New York, of Italian heritage[1]. Her stage name began as a childhood nickname from her younger sister, and she graduated from SUNY Purchase before pursuing music full time[1].

She grew up on Long Island, spent much of high school alone, and escaped into fiction such as vampire stories and gothic fantasy. A music teacher encouraged her to perform an original song at a school talent show, which started her path, followed by years of rejection and open mics[2].

Her independent singles gained attention on TikTok and streaming playlists, leading to the 2021 EP Girls in Purgatory, the 2023 album Good Thing We Stayed, and the darker, rock-leaning Pressure (2025)[1]. Her song "In My Room" became her biggest hit, and she has collaborated with Yeat and Drake and toured with Machine Gun Kelly[1].

Her music blends indie pop, alternative rock, electropop and R&B around diaristic themes of vulnerability, self-image and creative anxiety. In 2026 she released the single "Deep End" and launched a world tour of the same name[3].
