Biography
Momoko Gill is a London-based drummer, producer and vocalist who grew up between Japan, the United States and the United Kingdom.[1] Self-taught rather than conservatory-trained, she emerged from South London's multidisciplinary scene and recorded her debut solo album at East London's Total Refreshment Centre.[1]
She collaborated with electronic producer Matthew Herbert on the 2025 album Clay,[2] and released her debut solo album, Momoko, on Strut in February 2026, with Herbert mixing.[3] In September 2026 a Frankfurt festival cancelled her booking, which she described as censorship linked to her pro-Palestinian stance.[4]
