Peach PRC

Peach PRC is the stage name of Sharlee Jade Curnow, an Australian pop artist born April 2, 1997, in Adelaide, South Australia^[1]. She first adopted the name Peach, inspired by her love of the color pink and of Princess Peach from the Mario games, while working as a stripper before her music career took off, and later added the initials PRC, short for "porcelain," to complete the persona^[1].

She began independently releasing music in 2019, drawing on her experience of synaesthesia, in which she perceives colors tied to sound, to shape songs like her early single "Colourblind"^[1]. Around the same time she started posting on TikTok, building a large following through candid content about self-care and mental health alongside her music, which led to a major label deal with Island Records Australia and Republic Records in the US in 2021^[1]. Her debut EP, Manic Dream Pixie, reached number one on the ARIA Albums Chart in 2023^[1].

In January 2022, Curnow came out publicly as a lesbian, having spent the prior years identifying as bisexual. She has said she avoided confronting the fuller truth of her identity until the response to an unreleased song made clear how much her queer audience already saw itself in her, at which point she decided to stop steering around the subject^[5]. That public reckoning with her own identity later informed some of her most vulnerable songwriting, including "Out Loud" from Porcelain, a track about loving someone who has not yet made the same kind of disclosure Curnow herself once did^[3].

Her 2026 debut studio album, Porcelain, took roughly two years to make. Curnow has described struggling creatively in sterile, disconnected environments before finding a breakthrough through time spent outdoors, including volunteering at a bush care reserve, which shifted the album toward natural and fairy tale imagery^[3].
