Biography

Rachel Chinouriri is an English singer-songwriter and producer, born in London in 1998 to a family that had recently moved from Zimbabwe. She grew up in Croydon and attended the BRIT School[1].

She gave her first gig in 2017 supporting Celeste, began releasing singles in 2018 and signed to Parlophone. Her releases include the EP Mama’s Boy (2019), the mini-album Four° in Winter (2021, with an Ivor Novello nomination for “Give Me a Reason”) and the debut album What a Devastating Turn of Events (2024), which reached No. 17 in the UK[1].

She has opened for Lewis Capaldi, Louis Tomlinson and Sabrina Carpenter, and received two Brit Award nominations in 2025[1]. Her second album, I Think I Spoke Too Soon, is due on 16 October 2026. She describes it as a one-night story with a disco-leaning “trauma dance” sound, and says she has been sober for about a year[2]. The single “Broken Chair” was co-written with Lucy Dacus in Los Angeles[3].
