Biography
Syd Taylor is a Detroit-born, Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, producer, and guitarist.[6] She started making music with her twin sister, Emilia Paige, at age eight, and by twelve they were flying to Los Angeles for shows and writing sessions.[1]
The sisters worked together in the band Stereo Jane for about ten years.[4] In the summer of 2024 Taylor went independent after leaving a label deal with that band, and began writing solely for herself.[6]
Her debut solo album, After the Fact, is a twelve-track record that she wrote and self-produced, reportedly in about three months.[5][1] The deluxe edition arrived on October 9, 2026, adding "Red Light" and "Movie Star".[3] Her influences include The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, Nina Simone, and Aretha Franklin.[6][1]
