Biography
Tears for Fears are an English band formed in Bath by Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith, who had previously played together in the band Graduate.[1] Orzabal wrote most of the early songs, and the duo took their name from a phrase in Arthur Janov's 1980 book Prisoners of Pain.[2]
Their debut album The Hurting reached number one in the UK in 1983, with three top-five singles including Mad World.[2]
