Biography
The Avalanches are an Australian electronic group formed in Melbourne in 1997, built around co-founders Robbie Chater and Tony Di Blasi. They emerged from the remnants of the noise-punk band Alarm 115 and took their name from a 1963 surf-rock album.[1]
Their 2000 debut, Since I Left You, was assembled from an estimated 3,500 vinyl samples and won four ARIA awards. Wildflower followed in 2016 and reached number one in Australia, and We Will Always Love You arrived in 2020.[1]
Their fourth album, No Bad Memories, was released on 16 October 2026 and was built from advertising jingles, start-up sounds and old audio logos. Andy Szekeres was confirmed as a member in 2026, making the group a trio.[1][2]
