Wild Nothing

Person

Biography

Wild Nothing is the project of Jack Tatum, who began recording under the name in the summer of 2009 in Blacksburg, Virginia, after playing in local bands including Jack and the Whale and FACEPAINT.[1] A set of demos, helped along by a cover of Kate Bush's "Cloudbusting", drew the attention of the label Captured Tracks, which signed him as jangly C86-style music was in vogue.[1]

His debut album Gemini arrived in May 2010 and was widely admired as a dream pop and shoegaze homage.[2] Tatum has described the records as being all him, with the group existing as a band mainly in live performance.[1]
