Apocalypse

Apocalypse is Bill Callahan's third album under his own name, released by Drag City on April 5, 2011. It was recorded in September 2010 at Sonic Ranch, with John Congleton recording and Brian Beattie mixing, and Callahan has described it as an inward record presented in an outward, Western musical style. Callahan used the older sense of the title word, a revelation, rather than a disaster. It earned generally favorable reviews, including 8.0 from Pitchfork, which later ranked it 39th among the best albums of the 2010s.
