About this Album

Colour Green is the only album by German singer-songwriter and actress Sibylle Baier. She recorded the songs between 1970 and 1973 on a reel-to-reel machine at home, mostly with just her voice and a nylon-string guitar[1].

The tapes sat unheard by the public for about three decades. Her son Robby compiled them for family and friends, a copy reached J Mascis of Dinosaur Jr, and he passed it to Orange Twin, which released the record on 7 February 2006[1][3].

Its fourteen tracks run just over half an hour. The closing song adds strings and organ to the otherwise bare setup[1]. Critics have compared its plainness and sincerity to Nick Drake, Leonard Cohen and Joni Mitchell[3].
