Kapoor & Sons
About this Album
Kapoor & Sons (Since 1921) is a 2016 Hindi-language family drama directed by Shakun Batra and produced by Dharma Productions under Karan Johar. The film stars Rishi Kapoor, Fawad Khan, Sidharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt, Ratna Pathak Shah, and Rajat Kapoor, and follows two estranged brothers drawn back to their childhood home in Coonoor after a family crisis, only to have years of buried secrets surface: parental favoritism, hidden infidelity, and one son's concealed identity.
The soundtrack was released under Sony Music India, with the lead single "Bolna" (composed by Tanishk Bagchi, featuring Arijit Singh and Asees Kaur) arriving on 24 February 2016, two weeks before the film's 18 March theatrical release. The album marked a significant breakthrough for Tanishk Bagchi as a solo composer of romantic material after years of working primarily on item numbers and party tracks. The film was critically acclaimed and became a major commercial success, earning multiple Filmfare Awards including Best Story and Best Screenplay.
