The Comforts of Madness
About this Album
The Comforts of Madness is the debut album by Pale Saints, released on 4AD on 12 February 1990 and recorded at Blackwing Studios in London. John Fryer produced and engineered most of the album, including "Sight of You," while Gil Norton produced the remaining tracks.[1]
It reached the UK top 40 and has since been ranked among the notable shoegaze and dream pop records of its era, appearing on Pitchfork's 2016 best-shoegaze list.[1] A remastered 30th anniversary edition followed in January 2020 with demos and a John Peel session.[2]
