Biography
Julia Holter is a Los Angeles-based composer and singer, born December 18, 1984, and a graduate of CalArts, where she studied composition.[9]
Her debut album Tragedy (2011) drew on Euripides' play Hippolytus, and her second, Ekstasis (2012), drew comparisons to Kate Bush and Laurie Anderson.[9] Her third, Loud City Song (2013), was her first for Domino and was built around a musical adaptation of Gigi.[1]
Have You in My Wilderness (2015) dropped the literary frameworks of her earlier work for a more direct, intimate approach, with her voice brought forward under producer Cole M. Greif-Neill.[1]
