Biography

Miranda Lambert is an American country singer and songwriter, born on November 10, 1983, and raised in Texas. She placed third on the USA Network competition Nashville Star in 2003, which launched her recording career[1].

She co-founded the trio Pistol Annies in 2011 with Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley[1]. Over her career she has collected Grammy, ACM, and CMA honors, including 14 CMA Awards and three Grammys[2].

Her breakthrough single, "Kerosene," arrived in 2005 and established a defiant, revenge-minded image that shaped how audiences read her for years[4]. In more recent years she has become more collaborative and mentor-minded, co-founding the Big Loud Texas label imprint with Jon Randall and helping develop newer artists[4].

In 2026 she signed with MCA and released "Crisco," a country-disco single, followed by an album of the same name. She describes the record as a joyful departure from the fiery and heartbreak-driven songs that defined much of her career[2][3].

Lambert has been a regular at the Sunset Marquis hotel in West Hollywood for close to twenty years[4], and the closing track of Crisco, which she wrote with Ashley Monroe, Waylon Payne, David Garcia, and Jesse Frasure, is a tribute to it[4]. She has said the album taught her that heartbreak songs, honky-tonk songs, and dance songs do not need to be kept apart[5].

Crisco was written largely with producer Jesse Frasure, whose partnership with Lambert began when he remixed her song "Tequila Does" into a tropical house track. Its lead duet with Chris Stapleton, "A Song To Sing," was inspired by early 1980s country-pop pairings[4].

Lambert has also become a significant behind-the-scenes force for younger artists. She co-wrote and co-produced Ella Langley's hit "Choosin' Texas," produced Langley's album Dandelion, and sang on its track "Butterfly Season"[7]. The two reunite on "Snakeskin Boots," the opening track of Crisco.
