Person

Biography

Phil Elverum is an American singer-songwriter and visual artist from Anacortes, Washington. He first recorded as The Microphones, releasing music on K Records while living in Olympia, and in 2003 launched Mount Eerie, named for a mountain near his hometown.[1] He later founded the label P. W. Elverum & Sun Ltd., which issued most of his subsequent work.[1]

Following the death of his wife, Geneviève Castrée, in July 2016, he wrote and recorded A Crow Looked at Me (2017), a stark and direct album about grief that became his best-selling record, with Now Only following in 2018.[1][2]
