Biography

Naomi Grace Scott was born on May 6, 1993, in Hounslow, West London, to a British father and a mother of Gujarati Indian heritage originally from Uganda.[1] She holds a black belt in karate. She married professional footballer Jordan Spence at 21.

Scott began her performing career in her teens, gaining her first significant exposure through Disney Channel's Lemonade Mouth (2011). She went on to appear in the sci-fi series Terra Nova and then broke through to major film audiences playing the Pink Ranger in the 2017 Power Rangers reboot. Her most celebrated acting credit to date is Princess Jasmine in the 2019 live-action Aladdin, where her vocal performance of "Speechless" earned wide critical praise. She has since appeared in Charlie's Angels (2019), the Netflix limited series Anatomy of a Scandal (2022), and the horror sequel Smile 2 (2024).[1]

Alongside her acting career, Scott has maintained a long-running private life as a songwriter and musician. She released two EPs, Invisible Division (2014) and Promises (2017), before spending years writing and recording without releasing. "I've been making music for 15 years, but I haven't been releasing music," she has said.[2] She has spoken about finding the acting world's pace and external direction frustrating compared to the autonomy of music: "With music, you have more leeway to lead and dictate the process yourself."[2]

Her debut studio album, F.I.G. (an acronym for "Fall Into Grace," referencing both her middle name and Sylvia Plath's The Bell Jar), was released on March 20, 2026 via Alter Music. She funded and directed much of the project herself, working primarily with producer Lido in Norway and Los Angeles, with additional contributions from Dev Hynes (Blood Orange), Daphne Gale, and Goldwash.[3] The album received strong critical reception, with the AU Review calling it "one of the most assured pop-soul records in recent memory."
