Biography
Pile is an indie rock band from Boston, Massachusetts. It began in the late 2000s as the solo project of singer and songwriter Rick Maguire and became a full band around its 2010 album Magic Isn't Real.[1]
After signing to Exploding in Sound in 2011, the group released a run of albums including Dripping, You're Better Than This, A Hairshirt of Purpose and Green and Gray.[1] In 2018 guitarist Matt Becker left, Chappy Hull and Alex Molini joined, and Maguire moved to Nashville.[1]
Their sound draws on indie rock, post-punk, post-hardcore, slowcore and noise rock, and the band is known for long, unpredictable songs that swing between quiet and violent extremes.[1][2]
