The Beach Boys

Group

Biography

The Beach Boys are an American band whose harmony-driven pop made them one of the defining groups of the 1960s. Their most ambitious early work centered on Brian Wilson, who arranged, composed and produced the group's records.[1].

Wilson stopped touring with the band after a panic attack in 1964 and committed himself to studio work[2]. That decision shaped Pet Sounds (1966), on which studio musicians such as the Wrecking Crew largely replaced the band on instruments[1][3], and which Wilson has said was inspired by hearing the Beatles' Rubber Soul[1].
