Ca$ino
About this Album
Ca$ino is Baby Keem's second studio album, released February 20, 2026, on pgLang, Eerie Times, and Columbia Records. The album arrived nearly five years after his acclaimed debut The Melodic Blue (2021), marking a period of intense personal growth and emotional reckoning for the young artist.
The title draws directly from Keem's mother's gambling addiction, which cost the family rent money and contributed to evictions during his childhood in Las Vegas. Rather than treating those years as a source of shame, Keem reframes the casino as a symbol of resilience and self-definition: a place where he was shaped, rather than simply scarred. He has described the album as material for the child that walks home slow, a tribute to his inner circle and to his late grandmother, who passed away in 2025 and served as a second mother throughout his upbringing. In the Booman documentary series accompanying the album, Kendrick Lamar described the family's environment as "Section 8, welfare, general relief" and a "warfare environment," framing the album as an act of breaking generational cycles.
Thematically, Ca$ino is Baby Keem's most vulnerable and cohesive work. The album traces the arc of family trauma, addiction, poverty, and the complicated emotional terrain of sudden fame arriving at nineteen. Collaborators include Kendrick Lamar (his older cousin), Too $hort, and Momo Boyd. The project debuted at number four on the Billboard 200 and reached number one on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, earning generally favorable reviews for its emotional depth and sonic restraint. Critics noted the album's range, from heavy confessional tracks to the lighter, pop-leaning love song "Dramatic Girl" (featuring Che Ecru), which functions as the album's emotional exhale before the closing track brings the casino metaphor full circle.
