Biography
Mark Kozelek was born in Massillon, Ohio, and emerged from San Francisco as the leader of Red House Painters, whose slow, autobiographical songs defined an era of sad-core.[3]
He began recording as Sun Kil Moon in 2003 with Ghosts of the Great Highway, and the project has since spanned covers records, classical guitar explorations, and collaborations. Its 2014 album Benji, a collection of true stories about death and memory, drew wide acclaim.[3][1]
