About this Album

Yebba’s second studio album, Jean, was released on March 6, 2026, via RCA Records. Named after her late grandmother Jean, a formative figure who gave Yebba permission to be fully herself, the album is a tender and searching account of what it means to keep growing after loss.

Where Yebba’s debut album Dawn (2021) was named for her mother, who died by suicide in 2016, Jean represents a longer view: the so-called adulting years, when grief has not ended but has begun to coexist with ordinary ambition, creative uncertainty, and the strange lightness of feeling less desperate.

The album was created over five years with longtime collaborator John Rooney and composer James Francies, recorded across sessions in Arkansas, Dallas, and Electric Lady Studios in New York. Musically, it builds on the gospel-infused soul of its predecessor with folky, atmospheric arrangements that prioritize space and restraint over vocal showmanship. Critics praised its emotional depth and artistic evolution, drawing comparisons to Sufjan Stevens and Cleo Sol.
